I had practiced yoga in many different styles before moving to Port Macquarie and finding a dedicated Ashtanga studio with a great teacher at the Yoga Shala. Ashtanga has now become a regular practise for me and I can't imagine my life without it or the strong connections I have made with the Yoga Shala community.
Yoga has made me stronger physically, mentally and spiritually
I had tried yoga before and had enjoyed it but something seemed to be missing from the practice. When I came to practice Ashtanga yoga with Denis for the first time, I properly connected the movement and the asanas with my breath. The practice seemed to suddenly make sense: every movement linked inextricably to either an inhalation or an exhalation. Somehow powerful, calming and invigorating at the same time. Yoga has helped me through some tough times recently (probably with more grace and acceptance than if I did not have a reasonably established practice)
