Bali Jungle Adventure | 1-7 July 2018

This 6-night/7-day retreat is for those who would like to deepen their yoga practice in a secluded, natural environment. Bali Mountain Retreat is the perfect place to come to deeply relax and get away from the stresses of daily life. Our home for the week is a magical venue, nestled high on the eastern slopes of Mount Batukaru, a dormant volcano in central Bali. Immersing yourself in this beautiful space will make your whole being relax. Beside exploring yoga in all its facets on this retreat, there is also ample opportunity for Balinese jungle adventures, and to experience Bali, its culture and people, off the beaten track.

There will be twice daily yoga classes on offer – a mix of dynamic yoga, meditation, Pranayama (breathing), restorative yoga and deep, guided meditation. Participate in as much or as little as you feel called to. We will enjoy some activities and excursions as a group, and you can also take advantage of extra treks and jungle adventures available at the retreat (which can be booked at an additional cost). The more adventurous yogis can blend their choice of yoga classes with as much adventure as they feel like.

Every day will start with a meditation and Pranayama (breathing exercises), followed by a dynamic Ashtanga Yoga practice. In the afternoons we will explore techniques to balance the body and mind and experience some deep relaxation.

All meals will be catered for by Bali Mountain Retreat Restaurant, which uses the freshest local produce (organic, where possible). Dishes are a combination of Western and Indonesian Cuisine. Your dietary needs can be catered for (but make sure to advise us of the details at the time of booking).

The retreat includes a hals-day excursion to Tanah Lot. This picturesque sea temple is perched upon a rocky outcrop surrounded by crashing surf at high tide. Attributed to the influence of the 16th century priest Dang Hyang Nirartha, this rugged rock has been eroded over the centuries by the swirling tides. Tanah Lot is one of Bali’s six most important temples that are closely related to a number of equivalent mountain sanctuaries. This trip will also take us to a sacred forest with a small local temple belonging to people of Kukuh Village. The forest is inhabited by almost 700 hundreds monkeys and kalong - the local large bats.
