Ashtanga Intro courses are a great way of starting an Ashtanga Yoga practice. In this four-week course, you are taught the basics of breath, postures and movement in a small group environment.
The breath is at the core of Ashtanga Yoga. Each movement is aligned with a breath and the quality of the breath is the guide to a practice that is appropriate to you. When the breath is calm and undisturbed throught the practice, the mind becomes calm and clear and we know the body isn't over-challenged.
In this course you will be introduced to Sun Salutations, standing postures and the first parts of the Ashtanga Primary Sequence. You will gradually build strength, stamina, and flexibility.
Twice weekly classes create the opportunity to develop the dicipline required for an ongoing practice.
Courses are held on Mondays & Wednesdays at 6 am.
